The main activity of Dunavski Dragazhen Flot JSC is extraction and processing of inert materials from Danube River. The company is engaged in the transportation of coal, ore, iron and wood along Danube River.
- The extraction of inert materials (river gravel and river sand) by Dunavski Dragazhen Flot JSC is executed with dredge Tundzha - multi bucket-type dredger with a capacity of about 650 t / h
- The extracted quantity is loaded on hauled sections of the series 19000 with loading capacity 1,900 t. each.
- The sections are transported by ships of the company to the unloading area of the same.
- There it is unloaded with harbour cranes and sent for processing in CWSP (crushing-washing and sorting plant)
- The ready production (inert materials) is loaded with loading machines on vehicles and through the so called Cargo area - a system of rubber conveyor belts and self unloading bunkers - on wagons - maneuvered with own diesel locomotive on private industrial railway line.
Dunavski Dragazhen Flot JSC has the largest in Bulgaria capacity opportunities for extraction up to 800 thousand tons of inert materials per year and processing up to 500 thousand tons. Has a warehouse for inert materials in the town of Tutrakan
Besides the extraction and processing of inert materials Dunavski Dragazhen Flot JSC has possibilities for transportation of bulk cargo (ore, coal, iron, timber) along Danube River, as well as options for loading and unloading activities and for executing specific hydrotechnical activities along Danube River
Dunavski Dragazhen Flot JSC has registered harbour of regional significance.
The company successfully works for the domestic and international market, providing transport services to companies from countries having outlet to Danube River.
Currently at DDF-JSC-Ruse are working over 100 employees. The Executive Director is Eng. Valeri Ivanov.
The company for extraction and processing of inert materials Dunavski Dragazhen Flot JSC was evaluated and certified according to the requirements of the standard ISO 9001:2000.
Dunavski Dragazhen Flot JSC, Ruse started as an independent legal entity in 01.12.1962, when with Decree № 175 of Council of Ministers, October 1962 was established with subject of activity: extraction of inert materials from Danube River.
With 162nd Order of the Council of Ministers from 02.03.1963, has been operating as State Enterprise Dunavski Dragazhen Flot in Ruse. In the following years, the enterprise has been developing and operating independently in different reconstructions and re-registrations as Dunavski Dragazhen Flot JSC Ruse.
